Job Overview
The Deckhand of Othership is an individual who is highly dependable, reliable, can work
independently and possesses a strong work ethic, communication skills and a keen eye for
detail. Has relevant professional cleaning experience, and is efficient in mopping, sweeping,
dusting, vacuuming, and other custodial duties. The Deckhand is responsible for managing and
overseeing the facility cleanliness needs and standards. Ensuring all areas and aspects of the
physical space are attended to and up to our level of service.
Part-time opportunities available. 5-6 hr shifts. Early Mornings, late nights, weekends.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing and managing cleanliness of all common areas; front desk, changing stalls &
locker area, tea lounge, sauna, cold plunge pools, dunk showers, washroom & shower
and staff room. - Regularly cleaning, wiping and disinfecting all surfaces and high touch point areas;
inside and outside of lockers, door handles, countertops etc. - Regularly sweeping common areas of hair and debris, emptying garbages and
maintaining general cleanliness. - Regularly squeegeeing & mopping; sauna floors, cold plunge floors and dunk shower
floors, ensuring areas are always clear of any standing water. - Monitor and manage onsite laundry; clearing and cleaning laundry bins, running towels
through wash & dry cycles and rolling of towels for guests. - Cleaning the washrooms, including; sink, countertops, sweeping & mopping the floor of
any hair or debris, cleaning the toilet bowl and handle, cleaning and washing the shower;
floors & handles. - Vacuuming tea lounge couches and floors and clearing any garbage or debris.
- Cleaning the sauna floors and benches
- Circulating cold plunge pools and loading ice as needed
- Heavy duty + detail cleaning; mopping, drain cleaning, steam cleaning, shower cleaning.
- In this position, you will work independently and as needed and follow a cleaning
checklist.
Physical Requirements - Able to work on your feet for 8 hours
- Able to move, pull carry or lift 20 pounds
- Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, climb and stand for long durations of time
- Able to work in an environment with large temperature variations (Sauna)
Qualifications - Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Prior cleaning experience (highly preferred)
- A high standard for cleanliness
- Attention to detail

- Strong command of the English language
