This program equips you with a comprehensive skill set: installing and maintaining water distribution and hot water heating systems, and setting up and repairing sanitary drainage systems in adherence with national and local plumbing codes and standards, ensuring you can meet regulatory requirements and safety standards once in industry.
The learning provides you with the ability to diagnose and resolve a range of plumbing issues, from simple leaks to complex system failures, using both analytical and practical knowledge. This program gives you a solid foundation in plumbing and prepares you for many different areas of work — from the manufacturing industry and institutional maintenance to the service industry, sales and plumber apprentice.

Work experience
Field experience is a mandatory credit course, providing the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills outside the classroom. Opportunities are typically unpaid and last approximately 5 weeks. Transportation, accommodations and other costs related to work experience courses are your responsibility.
Admission requirements
High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent. Applicants must complete a mandatory orientation survey once accepted.
Program requirements
To graduate from this program you must complete all mandated attendance requirements, including maintaining a minimum 90% attendance in all courses. As part of your studies at NSCC you also develop a portfolio of your work, capturing your achievements and profiling your skills to employers.
