Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations during brunch service, ensuring quality and consistency

• Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute creative menu items

• Manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment

• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness

• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to minimize waste

• Support smooth communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams

• Assist in training new team members and promoting professional growth

• Troubleshoot operational challenges quickly to maintain service flow

Must-Have Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards

• Leadership and team management skills

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak brunch hours

• Passion for creative, customer-oriented cuisine

• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• Mandatory working on weekends and holidays

Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills

• Culinary certification or formal training

• Experience with inventory management software

• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergen handling

• Food Safe certified

• Previous experience in a brunch-focused restaurant

Work Location & Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position based at Monki Bistro on Crowfoot Crescent in Calgary, Alberta. Weekend and holiday shifts are required to support our busy brunch service.
