We are a product-driven organization that values transparency, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. As we enter our next phase of scale, we are looking for dedicated leaders to help us navigate complex markets and drive sustainable growth.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to join our executive leadership team in Toronto. As the VP Finance, you will take ownership of our entire financial operation—from foundational accounting and controllership to forward-looking financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
This is not just a reporting role; it is a highly strategic partnership with our CEO and executive team. You will be instrumental in shaping our growth trajectory, optimizing our capital allocation, and ensuring our financial infrastructure can seamlessly support our scaling operations. The ideal candidate brings a builder's mindset, a deep understanding of technology or SaaS business models, and the executive presence required to engage with our Board of Directors and external partners.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Serve as a key partner to the CEO and executive team, providing data-driven insights that inform pricing strategies, product investments, and organizational expansion.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Direct all FP&A activities, including the development of annual operating plans, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial models that align with our core business objectives.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, highly accurate financial reporting in accordance with ASPE/IFRS standards.
- Board & Investor Relations: Prepare and present comprehensive financial packages, board decks, and performance narratives to the Board of Directors, investors, and internal stakeholders.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous professional development.
- Cash Flow & Treasury: Manage treasury, cash flow planning, and capital structure, ensuring optimal liquidity to support ongoing and future business needs.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and strict compliance with all provincial and federal tax and regulatory requirements.
- Systems & Infrastructure: Evaluate, implement, and optimize our financial technology stack (e.g., ERP systems, billing platforms) to drive automation, scalability, and efficiency across the department.
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3 years operating at a VP, Senior Director, or Head of Finance level.
- A professional accounting designation (CPA) in good standing.
- Proven track record in a B2B SaaS or technology environment, with a deep understanding of software revenue recognition, ARR, churn, and other key SaaS metrics.
- Exceptional financial modeling skills and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business strategies.
- Demonstrated experience building, leading, and mentoring finance teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong executive presence and exceptional communication skills, with a history of successfully presenting to executive boards and external investors.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving and an ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience navigating the financial complexities of scaling a company through significant growth phases (e.g., Series B to IPO or strategic exit).
- Hands-on experience leading a major ERP implementation or system transition.
- Previous involvement in corporate development or mergers and acquisitions, from financial due diligence through to post-merger integration.
What We Offer
- A prominent executive role with direct influence over the strategic direction of a growing technology company.
- A competitive base salary commensurate with senior executive experience in the Toronto market.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
- A collaborative, modern office environment located in the heart of Toronto, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.
- Generous paid time off to support work-life balance and mental well-being.
